Brenda Starr

Brenda Starr is one of my favorite dolls. There is so much we do not know about her & a lot we do. Here are some things that I have learned. Brenda Starr was issued in 1964 by Madame Alexander. She was out for a year and was discontinued due to royalties. Madame Alexander then re-issued her a Yolanda in 1965. Yolanda was discontinued in 1966. In 2003 Effanbee Doll Company bought the rights to Brenda Starr. They introduced Brenda Starr in 2003. In 2004 the line was extended with Daphne Dimples and in 2005 with Basil St John. They retired the line in 2007. Both Madame Alexander & Effanbee Brenda Starr dolls are still popular.

This blog is about Brenda Starr #900 by Madame Alexander. She comes with a doll, chemise, shoes, a stand & a hair booklet. She has many clothes. The doll comes with clothes or only clothes. It was hard to find all her clothes & there was no booklet on the clothes.  Any information you have would be great.

Here are the outfits I know of.  Do you know if I missed an outfit?  Do you have the booklet Madame Alexander Doll Fashion Parade of 1964?  I would love a copy for the blog.  I have seen #955 with the doll and without is the product number the same?   If so are the missing numbers for Brenda Starr outfits or just Madame Alexander product numbers for different dolls?  I know that Cissette doll clothes use some of these product numbers too.

I have no product number for the following:

Yolanda doll #1030 was released in 1965. Her box lists the following. Her hair color is Blonde, Aubrun, Tosca, Brown hair colors.  She comes in blue and brown eyes.  Dress - pink, blue, masie, red, green, white, accsa, rose, lay, navy, chart. and beauty. Her box is now a Madame Alexander blue box. They did make a change to her face. Does she have her own clothes? I know she has a Yolanda tagged Wedding Dress.
